Macmann
MACMANN is a Vancouver-based indie rock artist from Ireland, built for speed, starting mosh pits, and occasionally, having a little cry. Fast-paced guitars, thumping drums, and hard hitting bass collide with angry (often comedic) lyrics that stay brutally honest. MACMANN is loud, real, and demands a reaction.
Emma Alves
Emma Alves is an unearthly songstress whose work ebbs and flows like the silk of a spider's web. Inspired by artists like Willow, Absolutely, and Hayley Williams, Emma's music is alluring and experimental. As a songwriter, Emma's collection of work began in 2014, when her debut album and leading single gained traction on Canadian radio stations. After over a decade of releasing music, she has come to feel limited by the borders and boxes of a discography defined by genre. Alves is in the midst of rolling out her highly anticipated sophomore album. The record will start in R&B and end in Rock, with Emma leaning into an ever-changing 'multi-genre' sound. Emma infuses soul into all aspects of the creative process, both in and out of the studio. Her all-consuming melodies and enthralling lyricism create a unique terrain, and she is planting her garden.
houseguest
houseguest is an all-trans post-emo rock band trying to see hope through a haze of disillusionment, penning queer anthems that reach for silver linings while embracing the sliver of sadness that runs through it all. Formed in 2023 on unceded Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Watuth territories, their brand of off-kilter basement rock melds melancholic guitar hooks and an intimate rhythm section. They fuse these elements beneath evocative, esoteric lyrics and peculiarly catchy choruses.
