TOW

a Japanese Acoustic Band by Nue and Kai

On Sunday, November 9th we’re partnering with the Mission Folk Music Festival and the Powell Street Festival on a very special, free show at the Clarke when we welcome Japan’s TOW to Mission on their first Canadian tour.

TOW is performing at the HR Macmillan Space Centre in Vancouver, the Nikkei National Museum and Cultural Centre in Burnaby, and the Clarke Theatre in Mission.

The audience and performers will be onstage for this special presentation, with tickets limited to 100.

TOW is a Japanese acoustic band; Nue sings and plays the electric accordion while Kai plays the acoustic guitar. Their songs have that classic Japanese feel to them, and TOW shine in live performances which are described as a “temporary dream” or a “trip to an otherworldly scene”.

Their music is influenced by Japanese Court and pre-Edo Period Music, as well as the music featured in Studio Ghibli’s anime.

TOW will be accompanied by projected visuals designed for this tour.

This is a free show at 7:30pm on November 9th, but space is limited!
